    Michelle Darnell, a populist-libertarian, filed yesterday for office against Democrat State Representative from the 48th District (Bel-Red-Kirk), Patty Kuderer, who is a Kirkland attorney appointed last year to fill the vacancy left by fellow Democrat Ross Hunter.
 
    Michelle ran 2 years ago as a Republican for State Senate against Democrat Cyrus Habib.  She is now running as a Libertarian for State House.

    "I'm for educational choice while my opponent voted against the recent charter school bill.  I thought Democrats were for choice," Ms. Darnell said.  "I'm for choice in your personal life, and your business life.  I am socially accepting and economically conservative."

    "I want Republican votes, Democratic votes, Libertarian votes and independent votes," she said.

    The paralegal and mother of 4 wants to repeal the B & O tax in favor of small business and wants to help homeowners facing foreclosure.

    "Elite Democrats in Olympia haven't done much for the working and middle class.  If I get to Olympia, that'll change."
